July 31 - Resort Adventures

Day 212 - 153 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Trail (Guatemala)

Today is the 212th edition of the 2019 Resort Adventures. I've managed to get one per day done since January 1. I actually started before that but counting just this year it's been one per day without missing any days. The interesting thing is that what I call "Adventure", isn't always much more than the mundane things going on around the lake. In many cases, it isn't even that adventurous. But nevertheless, it's the lifestyle and "Lake Life" that has the appeal and even the little things like cooking a meal over an open fire just adds to the charm of the Resort Adventure. My friends Brad and Jared are the ones who are really wrapping themselves around the experience. I had recently loaned them a fire pit tripod and they immediately decided to cook their supper on it.

One more part of the Good Life!

The Last Resort Project:
Cabin 5 at "The Last Resort" has been getting additional upgrades for the past couple of days, The guys were busy installing a new water heater and doing some more cosmetic work around the exterior today.

And yes, it looks a little like a construction zone, because that's what's happening there most of the time right now.

It will get better day by day

Build a few campfires yourself and cook something over them..... ~ Martin Teig (Isn't that right, Brad and Jared?)

Day 211 - 154 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombian)

With the water level on the lake recovered, we are now back to normal in all respects to fishing and boating. I received a call in the afternoon from the local news channel that has been reporting our story and they wanted to do a follow up to the repairs. So once again I was able to get in front of a camera and help them describe the difficulties we had this summer.

"News Story with Video Here"

“Adventure is about what we do; not what we plan, strategize or dream about. Adventure begins with “what ifs” and “why nots.” “What if I were to step out to chase that dream? Why not take the first steps and see what happens? When we step through the doorway of adventure our life is suddenly worth the living. And we experience life as it was meant to be.”
