January 20 - Resort Adventures

January 20, 2020
Day 20 - 346 Days to go
41 Days Until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavor)

I'm not sure exactly why, maybe it's because I always talk about adventure being part of everyday life. Is it just me, or does everyone turn around and half expect someone to be sneaking up on them with a weapon? Now I have to admit, I wasn't that alarmed when I saw it was nothing more than a broken tape measure. Broken tape measures are much more dangerous when they are still intact enough to slice you as they are being retracted into their case. Once broken free of their case, they are mostly harmless. That doesn't mean that you can't attempt to use them as a weapon (or to even actually measure something) it just means that in either case...… You can't!

Someday I'll have to try to teach that to Brad. Until then, I have no doubt that the tape measure of doom will make it's presence known on occasion. If nothing more that just to keep me on my toes as we continue to rehab our cabins over at the Treehouses.

I think that "Highlander Grogg" coffee may have had something to do with it!

January 19 - Resort Adventures - Week 3 In The Books

January 19, 2020
Day 19 - 347 Days to go
42 Days Until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Fog (Guatemala Decaf)

Me, Shelley and Callahan at 5:30am by the fire
We are now about two thirds of the way through January and I believe that Winter is deciding to stay somewhere else this year. Yes, we've had the occasional spits of snow and ice, but mostly we have had temperatures far above freezing during the day time every day so far. I can live with that! Guests are coming and going at a slow pace which is typical for this time of year. We have been so busy with renovation projects that I've basically hid in the house on Sunday's and either slept or found slower and more relaxing things to do! I can live with that too!

With the birth of our second grandson, we have been on "Callahan Duty" both day and night for several days while Charlie gets life going. It's reminding me why it's the younger generation that has kids. I've kind of forgotten how busy that can be when it's 24 hours a day. We are blessed to have two grandkids now and look forward to their adventures.
