February 28 - Resort Adventures

February 28, 2020
Day 59 - 307 Days to go
2 Days Until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Caramel Apple ( a really good seasonal flavor)

We ended yesterday by making a calculated judgment about being able to get the rooms 11 and 12 done before our guests would be arriving today. Dave and I started at 8am and worked right up until 1pm and finally had most of the punch list knocked out. The cleaning and housekeeping was still needed but Dave assured me that he could Git-R-Done!

With a deep breath, I told him to make sure everything was ready in all of the other cabins for the guests and save the final work on 12 until last. That way if they began to show up, I could simply direct them into all the other units until 12 was finished. Dave worked his magic and by 3pm, he sent a message that all was ready.

With the initial work completed and the rooms functional once again, we can address the painting and staining of the decks and railings at a later date. By 8pm tonight, I had received RAVE REVIEWS by the King family on the new work that was just completed. They said it was a wonderful surprise that they had not expected! (I guess they haven't been following the Resort Adventures updates!

I suppose in this case...….. that was probably a good thing!

FEbruary 27 - Resort Adventures

February 27, 2020
Day 58 - 308 Days to go
3 Days Until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavor)

Tomorrow is the big day of completion on rooms 11 and 12 at Rainbow Haven Resort. Guests will be arriving and it has to be done no matter what all it takes!

I can tell you that by the end of the day there was still close to a day's worth of cleaning and final work that still needs done so tomorrow is going to get intense. We will be working from early in the morning to make sure we (and all our tools) are out of the project by the time they get here. This is not the first time we have been finishing up on construction the day guests show up and will not likely be the last time either!

Where would the adventure be if we weren't working up until the last minute to get it done!

Adventure Quote: “Setting out is always a leap of faith, a risk in the deepest sense of the term, and yet an adventure too. The familiar and the habitual are so falsely reassuring, and most of us make our homes there permanently. The new is always by definition unfamiliar and untested, so God, life, destiny, suffering have to give us a push--usually a big one--or we will not go.”
