Wonky Treehouse 2.0........ Todays Wonky Treehouse painting is of Belle Arbres. I'm excited for the originals to arrive. They are due here any day. They are such an interesting and amazingly accurate interpretation of the real treehouse. If you missed yesterday's look at Wonky Misty View, I'll let you know we are planning to eventually have canvas prints of these paintings in the gift shop.

The second pic is the one of Belle Arbres I sent to the artist.

Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark (Colombia Dark French Roast)

I'm sharing a sneak peek of something a little different today. It's a treehouse cabin, Misty View to be exact. A friend is working on a new art style she refers to as "Wonky". When I saw a sample of it, I knew it was perfect for a treehouse painting. I sent her a couple of treehouse pics. One of Misty View and one of Belle Arbres. Here's her rendition of Wonky Misty View. Soon, you'll see it displayed in our office/gift shop. Don't be too surprised if you will be able to purchase a canvas print of it for yourself.

Treasured Times Cruising is the Adventure today. I patiently wait ......... (well, maybe impatiently wait) each week for the next video installment. Captain Adreane is quick to remind us that you can't work all the time. Have to take time to play too. I guess that's some good advice for her dad. It's easy to see the mountain of things that always need done and just keep plugging away at it without stopping. Every now and then, it's time to play. Or catch some shrimp...... 

Or go fishing for shoes!

Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Woods (Colombia/Costa Rica)

The Missouri Boatride treehouse has finally moved past the construction phase on the outside with a few small exceptions. Today was the first day I could get a picture with all of the scaffolding away from the front. The funny part is the whole cabin is very rustic but the new front door looks completely "out of place".  I'm sure Randy will think of something to fix that. 

Cabinets are being built right now and once again, we have a surprise up our sleeves for that. As Randy says, we've passed the mundane and are now getting to the fun stuff. The detail, decorating and fixtures is what really transforms the treehouses cabin into an experience.

Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake (Colombia/Sumatra blend)

Well, we've had the Marina Inn open officially now for about a week. The first week started out slow and I wasn't too sure what to think. I guess it could have been just new and not busy. Then it was like the flood gates opened, From the weekend, we were full across the board in all rooms all the way through next weekend. I'm not sure I've ever seen that. Even though it's Spring Break everywhere, that's usually good for weekends but not mid week. This time, mid week is full as well. If this keeps up, we may have a time getting the log siding installed. 

The room you see to the right is one of our balcony, 2 bedroom units that overlooks the pool. All of the two bedroom ones have a full bathroom and full kitchen. The Marina Inn isn't quite the "Cabin" place like all of our other resorts have been. However, I think it shines best in the "Close to all the cool stuff" category. We are on the front door of Table Rock Lake on Indian Point and basically the "Back door to Silver Dollar City. (We are past the main entrance to "the City" down Indian Point) making the trip up the road to the theme park a quick one with no traffic until you hit their parking lot. And That's Saying Something.........if you've ever waited an hour in the Branson side traffic jam!
