Day 299 - 67 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Holiday Spice (No telling what all kinds of flavors are present. Tastes like Holidays though!)

After almost 10 years of working on and operating Resort properties, it feels a little weird to wake up in the morning without a resort related schedule to keep. Since we are living at the Treehouse Resort (Branson Treehouse Adventures) I looked out my window at what still remains of the Fall colors. I decided to take a walk around the place this morning and catch a little bit of the complexion of the Fall in the Ozarks at the Treehouses. I decided to save some of the actual treehouse pics for later and instead, show what the RV section of the property looks like in it's Autumn color. I expect you will probably get a pretty heavy dose of the treehouses for the next month or two while we are working on the next chapter of our journey. That's okay though. I'll try my best to make it interesting!

Day 298 - 68 Days to go

Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Trail (Guatemala)

We are in the middle of learning what it's like to be in a Resort holding pattern. Of course, the Treehouse Resort is still going strong and we get to slip in and out of the activities there. Mostly though, we are beginning to wrap up odds and ends things with other non-resort business while we continue to work on the next step of our Adventure. Tonight, however, we got to take part in an annual Autumn Treehouse tradition hosted by our staff members for the enjoyment of kids (young and old alike) who are guests in the resort this weekend. Among things like Roasting Hotdogs over a Bonfire, Pumpkin Painting and a Hay Ride, there was a bit of Trick or Treating going on as well. RV's throughout the Park left lights on for the kids and they stopped with TWO loads of Hay Ride kids at our place for candy. Shelley overloaded them with sugar which the kids didn't seem to mind. I guess we'll possibly hear about that tomorrow from the parents!

Imagine all of the memories happening tonight as these kids experience life in the Treehouse Resort, hay rides and such. I can tell you that they ALL had smiles a mile wide and as they pulled away and headed back into the darkness, I heard the fading song coming from the hay wagon..... Baby Shark do do do do do do Baby Shark do do do do do do.......... Try to forget that now! LOL

Day 297 - 69 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavors)

Once again, I am shifting from the "routine Resort Adventure" over to the "Adventure on the High Seas" on board the Treasured Times with Michael and Adreane Culotta (our daughter and her husband) As they complete their sea trials and get the final punch list of updates and upgrades installed, the life aboard ship is a fascinating experience to watch. Here are links to the first batch of videos they have completed.

Day 295 - 71 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Ozark Mountain Turtle (Chocolate/Caramel/Pecan flavors)

Fall is in the process of settling in on us right now. The "Resort Adventure" has been running at a frantic pace for the past month or so leading up to the beginning of the biggest transition we've experienced to date. We have officially sold the Rainbow Haven Resort and closed on it just a couple days ago. This is a little bit of a bittersweet occasion for us. With this move, we have officially left the community of Rockaway Beach and our resort ownership roots there. We are not leaving the Resort Adventure. Our plans are to actually increase the experience. Where the Cross Timbers Cabins, Fisherman's Hide-Out and Rainbow Haven Resort have all been part of our "learning curve",  Branson Treehouse Adventures has been part of the "Step Up" to a more serious resort experience for us. With the sale of the Rockaway properties, we can now get our sights on another resort more in line with the caliber of the treehouses. Often when we begin to prepare for a change like this, we go into a bit of a silent mode while negotiations are taking place. It's no different this time so you'll just have to watch and wait for the next step in the "Adventure. The excitement level for us is high for the changes that are ahead of us. I expect to get back on track with the daily postings soon. Meanwhile, we are enjoying the cooler weather that the Autumn brings from our new and temporary residence at the Treehouses.

OH...... And I LOVE sipping my coffee by the fire and hearing the steam train whistle wafting up the valley again. That never gets old.

Day 284 - 82 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost at Sea (just kidding, there is no "Lost at Sea", it's really "Lost on the Lake" Colombia/Sumatra blend)

Today's "Adventure" is not mine (at least, not yet) but rather the beginning of Mike and Adreane's BIG Adventure. While it is not a "Resort Adventure", I think it completely qualifies as one. The boat you see in the pictures, "Treasured Times" is the recent addition to what we could call their small "Fleet". It is a 52 foot boat with three guest staterooms on board (along with everything needed to support a group of up to 10-12 guests and crew)

Their New Adventure is beginning to take shape at Marathon Key in Florida. This new boat will enable them to begin offering multi day private charters around the Keys including fishing, snorkeling, diving, spear fishing, Lobster hunting and general Island/Keys hopping around the Gulf of Mexico. Adreane has had her Coast Guard 100 Ton Master Captains license for over a year now and logged in countless hours on the MV Idle hour. Mike is the very well qualified engineer on board and both are experienced in fishing, diving snorkeling and just having fun aboard their boats!
