Day 16 - 349 Days to go
44 Days until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake
We heard of another resort for sale today. It's an interesting idea and nice looking place. Wouldn't you know it comes on the heels of just getting things really moving on the Project X. We went to drive by it today but got delayed with other things and it got dark on us.,so we'll have to try again. Speaking of Project X, we did meet with the bank again, the guy that would likely be our General Manager and others at the site. If you know me very well, you know that prior to a creative rehab on anything or construction of one of our Treehouse Cabins, I usually begin to compile hundreds of ideas on a related Pinterest board. I think I'll start one up soon for this project. You'll have to keep an eye out for it. The pic to the right would be a sample of the kinds of things it might contain.
So the weather has been extremely mild for January but they say we should expect cold temps in the teens by Saturday night. Which by the way was upgraded from single digits that they were first predicting. One thing I've learned when operating resorts that were primarily designed for warm weather use is that you must deploy a battery of cold weather defenses in the winter. Some say it would be easier to simply shut everything down and winterize it. I would personally rather keep it going and get the guests that still come in to fish and enjoy the winter season in the Treehouses or cabins and keep the business going for them. So, a few years ago I wrote a little about one of my defense networks I called PACNET. I think you'll get the idea when you link to it and read about my "Mostly successful but sometime futile" war with winter weather!
The Adventure never ends - It's just colder in the winter!
