We are only about half full at the Resorts this weekend and all of our guests are return customers here for the fishing. That means they are pretty well self sufficient when it comes to needing anything from us other that whatever they believe the hottest fishing lure is this week. That's been pretty easy this year. Gold colored spoons have been the lure of choice among the trout population all Summer. As I look ahead in the calendar, I see a lot of return guests scattered all the way through October. We are getting into the Fall fishing season and those that know it have had reservations for quite some time. Some of them for an entire year. Even though they are here for the fishing, an early morning cup of coffee is almost always part of the routine.
The boys have been wanting to install a flag pole at the Last Resort for a while. I kept telling them to wait, that I had the perfect pole for them. They got it planted in the ground and strung up now and are proud as real Americans about it!
I told them to get some rest this weekend because we would be starting on the house renovations first of the week. The cabins have come a long way since we began our work there this past Spring. They weren't necessarily in terrible condition, they had just had almost no attention for about two years and it showed. Now that they are getting back in shape, they have been receiving quite a lot of attention from the neighbors. So far, all of it is good!
