We are back to the cabinets at the Last Resort today and they are making good progress. The Last Resort is the nickname we have give to this property while we are fixing it up. It's up the hill from the lake about a block and a half and about the same distance from our Rainbow Haven Resort. It began it's life as the Hospitality Hill Resort I would guess back in the 50's. When we bought it in 2012, it had been used as monthly rentals for a number of years. We converted a couple of the cabins back to nightly's and renamed the place The Fisherman's Hideout. That worked well for us but it was near the early part of our "Resort Adventures" and before we purchased the Treehouse property and started building there. (Branson Treehouse Adventures) and also before we bought the Rainbow Haven Resort. Even though there is a house and seven cabins (and a big pool) the property doesn't fit our direction as much as it did when we purchased it. Our goal this year has been to bring it back to a condition where it is suitable for rent as a monthly rent property. This will provide a stable income for a new owner who may even want to upgrade it (or part of it) back to a nightly resort at some point.
We are committed to the nightly lodging business at this point and have plans to keep moving in that direction with bigger properties. The work that's being done now will make this an awesome "Starter Kit" for a new owner and in some ways I would like to keep it as part of our inventory.
Still...….. I also am ready to move on to more exotic projects. (such as more treehouse cabins or even something else that I have hiding in my "secret idea file")
My "Secret Idea File" has probably over 1,000 ideas in it that are ALL too weird or "outside the boundaries" for normal construction. But that suits me just fine.
