Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombian)
Since I'm on a "Creativity Kick" in the Resort Adventure postings, I think I'll continue it with a couple of thoughts on what I think of when thinking "Resort". When I was a kid, my family made a number of trips to either Minnesota or Missouri for a week to get away and do some fishing. These trips may have been mainly for the purpose of catching fish for my parents. For me, I think I was even too young to know these trips were coming up. I just knew that once I was there the whole experience was an exotic adventure. Even when there wasn't a pool at the places we visited, there was almost always a lake. As a kid, what better place to be than a place where you could swim every day, all day long if you wanted to and you didn't have to wait for a day when someone could arrange to take you to a pool.
As an adult, the pool still gets a little bit of my attention. The main reason I love life at the resorts has more to do with the relaxing nature of staying in a cabin in surroundings that promote relaxation and contentment. Coffee by the fire, watching the moon rise over the lake, even listening to coyotes off in the distance adds to that experience. The more of that experience I can help create makes me feel like my time has been well spent!
