Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake (Colombia/Sumatra)

There's nothing quite like a big bunch of fish to put a smile on your face. The Springtime has been an up and down experience for fishing. It's mostly been because of the rain in the region pushing all the other lakes around here to near flood stage. Even though it doesn't seem to affect us much, when Table Rock Lake releases a lot of water through the flood gates, it gives us (or, our fish, rather) more shad to feed on than they know what to do with. According to local fishermen, this lasts a week or two before they get thinned back out and the fish return to taking something on the end of a line.

All part of the cycle I guess! As of now, things appear to be back to normal.
