An Ozarks Water Garden

Yesterday's Adventure into the past has inspired us to make the visiting of traditional "Mountain Craft" skills part of our Homesteading journey. I can't think of a better place to do that than right here in the Ozarks. I remember dreaming of moving to this region even when I was a kid. We had lived here for about two years when I was 10 years old. From that point, I was ruined for anywhere else. Yes, I enjoy the Mountains (the big mountains) I enjoy the North-Woods. I REALLY enjoy the Caribbean Sea and everything it touches. Somehow though, the Ozarks for me is home and will likely always be home. It would be tough to leave it permanently.

Shelley and I have made our move to a cabin in the woods a big part of our slow down and relaxing part of life. It may sound a little funny to those who are already living this way as a lifestyle. After all, this is not a "Do Nothing" kind of a life. Especially starting with raw land. Almost everything is work and effort. Oddly though, the work and effort we've done so far has been significantly less than the last 10-20 years of resort operation and home renovations business. Plus, if you've been following this, you'll know that nearly every day begins with a cup or two of coffee while sitting by the campfire at sun-up. So, work or no work, the life is becoming more and more relaxing.
