The Campfire Trail: October 23 - DIY Homestead - Cabin in the Woods Fall Color

Day 387 of the Adventure

We've had to give up our campfire routine for the past couple days due to all of the strong wind and dry conditions. Today we had a break from it all and was able to get back to normal. Coffee, Campfire, Sounds in the woods we aren't sure what they are kind of a morning. The downside to sitting by the fire right now is that our back yard is starting to look like a construction zone again. We have made it around 2 sides and part of the third side of the cabin with the logs. Every time we start a project though, the tools, materials, scraps and general chaos seems to take over the entire area. On a positive note, the weather for the next two weeks looks very mild. I think we'll be able to make some very significant progress on the cabin and utility building exterior.

The Fall colors are reaching a peak now and the whole "Cabin in the Woods" experience is breathtaking. I wish we were able to somehow share this life in a better way. Perhaps we will try to make a video of just the woods, campfire, steaming coffee cup, and more of the atmosphere we get to experience down here. I think it's worth a try.........
