Day 1,421 of the Adventure


Yesterday, I mentioned that we had finally overcome probably about 95 percent of the "cave-in" problems in our basement. The persistent rain in the springtime and even the occasional rain during the summer, kept us busy repeating the clean out of mud that would collect in our workspace. Finally, we've gotten past that point. Rain can still be a nuisance but now we have a couple of areas we can work on depending how the weather is treating us. The area in front of the summer kitchen door is now backfilled and drains rainwater along with the rest of the foundation. Now it really doesn't matter what the weather does, we have multiple places to work. Where we once used a six foot stepladder to get into the kitchen, it's only a couple of steps up now. That area you're looking at in the picture will contain a small deck soon. Each day is a good day of progress now.
