Today was a relax day. There was grandson babysitting going on. A Iowa Hawkeyes Football game. (A win by the way) A full pot of Base Camp coffee and homemade Chili. We had a number of Cabins rented for the New Years weekend. I love seeing the reaction of guests, especially when they've never stayed at one of our cabins and arrive to see them for the first time. The cabins with the big jetted tubs are always popular on New Years, Valentines, and just winter in general. The big three bedroom cabin is popular at holidays and for big family or group get-aways. This weekend was unique in that everyone that stayed at the cabins either called or texted me about how they loved the design, décor and experience. They do have a warm feel about them, but it's still good to hear that from the guests. Several left journal entries describing their experience.

Aside from that, we had opportunities to visit with various past employees to get caught up on what all is going on in their lives. Tom and Janice showed up one day bearing Christmas Gifts. We certainly enjoyed their visit. They were our housekeepers last year. but had to take a break for a shoulder surgery. Janice is still recovering but in good spirits.

As the New Year begins, we are preparing to ramp up our marketing even more than last year. If you have plans to stay at any of the cabins, make your reservations early.

OH...….. By the way, Shelley fixed a batch of last Spring's Crappie catch. Good thing that this coming Spring is just around the corner, because we are almost OUT of fish in the freezer! (SORRY, I forgot to get pictures of them in the skillet. And I stall haven't figured out how to digitize and send the smell of a fish fry...…. But they were delicious)
