Is This Really An Adventure?
As adventures go, we are not risking life and limb. Perhaps the occasional "slip and dip" into the lake. Or occasional boat rescue. Mostly, the adventure has to do with the excitement and freshness of doing something different and unique from a nine to five routine for us. When we wake up every day, seldom do we know even what will happen. We certainly try to plan things as best as possible. But really our lives are governed to an extent by what guests and customers are feeling like doing. If the weather is nice, we need to be prepared for people wanting to fish, camp, boat, kayak, bon fire, hike, watch bald Eagles, and on and on. Simply being a small part of that equation is an adventure. For me, the excitement of creating an interesting and appealing environment for people to enjoy themselves is probably a bigger reward. One of my all time business hero's is Walt Disney. One of his famous quotes is "If you can dream it, you can do it". This fits the "Adventure" that we talk about when you look at our treehouses, Pirate ship in the trees with a "Walk the Plank zip line". Coffee decks in the trees with swinging rope bridges to them. (really they are cable bridges, but rope bridges sounds more daring!) OR the treehouse with both indoor AND outdoor showers. (there's some adventure for you!)
The Last Resort Project: Due to the frantic pace leading up to the closing on our house and the guests schedule for this weekend, it will probably be next week before The Last Resort ramps back up again.
