Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Caramel Apple (flavored seasonal)
I looked out my office window this morning and saw what looked like Cap'n Ray dragging something across the island. Then it dawned on me..... I had asked him to retrieve the buoy line floats that had washed ashore last winter onto the island when the buoy marker broke loose. There have been several occasions when that darn buoy has given me grief. It can never just stay put and do it's job!
My first encounter with the cantankerous thing was back in late 2017. I wrote a poem about that one called "The Saving of the Rock Buoy". Craig, Tom and I had to deal with that fiasco!
Then again, it broke loose and escaped last winter. Joe Beeghly put me on to it's whereabouts then.
Now the time has come to re-assemble the whole thing and plant it back where it belongs! I'm sure, if all goes according to the way it usually does, I'll no doubt have a calamity to share when it's done. I may even recruit someone to video the process.
