June 21 - Resort Adventures - Summer Solstice

June 21, 2019
Day 172 - 193 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Fog (Guatemala Decaf)

Even though we have now been into the "Summer Season" for about a month, today is actually the first official day of Summer. Summer Solstice happened at about 4:23pm this afternoon. For the optimist, we now enjoy three months of Summer. For the pessimist, the days will now get shorter until Winter Solstice in December.

Around the resorts, it feels like summer, today was 95 degrees. The air feels kind of hazy and summerlike even at six in the morning. The pool has warmed to it's summertime temperature. Cool enough to be refreshing but warm enough to remove the shock of jumping in from earlier in the season.

We had a dad and daughter head out on a fishing expedition early this morning in one of the Jon boats from the marina. I don't think they caught many fish but certainly enjoyed spending the day together.

The Last Resort Project: The boys were here last night for grilled brats, potato salad, baked beans and to discuss the Last Resort. They'll begin working their magic tomorrow.
