August 7 - Resort Adventure

August 7, 2019
Day 219 - 146 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark (Colombian Dark French Roast)

Yesterday I went through the process of what it was like sending boats out onto the lake and my secret thoughts when some of them leave the dock. After writing it and thinking about it, I decided that today I would publish my "Rules of Boating" list. It's a short list actually containing only three rules. I'll add one or two depending on the crowd, but mostly it's just three.

RULE #1: "NO Mutiny's Allowed..... Meaning that whatever the Captain says is FINAL! No Matter How Ridiculous it may sound!"
….....This is also where most mutiny plans begin to be hatched. I've seen wives, children, best friends, complete strangers and anyone else on board look at the sitting Captain with a wary eye as if to say. "Don't Push It, Buddy!"

RULE #2: NO Throwing Each Other Overboard...……(Unless They Absolutely Deserve It!)...If The Captain Is The One Getting Thrown Overboard......You Have to Elect A New Captain!
……..This where any mutiny plans that may be under consideration usually get elevated to the next level. It's also the time when the Captains really begin to look nervous.

RULE #3: ALWAYS Try To Come Back With The Same Number You Left With...……. Even If It's NOT The Same People!...……..SO..... If You Can "Trade Up" While You're Out There.....That's Up To You!
………..This is always the point when the Captain feels doomed and everyone else is eyeballing everyone else on the boat as if they are measuring them up against some invisible scale of judgement.

But the FINAL RULE is always "Have Fun and Be Safe Out There!

The Last Resort Project:
Believe it or not, The Boys made an amazing amount of progress getting three more cabins closer to occupancy today. Inspector Diablo showed up again on another roof (or "Woof") as he puts it, to make sure the guys were getting it done right!

The Last Resort is actually taking on a sense of community among those who are beginning to call it home. Even though it's a "Resort Property", we are setting it up and utilizing it as a residential housing property. At the same time, everyone living there is still acting like they are on their own "Resort Adventure" and I'm having fun being a part of it all!

“Stop looking for the path of least resistance and start running down the path of greatest Adventure!
