The Summer Season is pretty much over but the Summer lives on. We are scheduled to have 90's in the forecast for as far as the extended forecast shows. The guest mix is now shifting over to the fishing crowd. Our weekends are nearly all full going through the fall. Among them is three different fishing groups that make their way here every year about this time. In between them, Ray has been busy painting around the Rainbow Haven Resort. He's definitely bringing some color to what had been a drab look for a number of years. Ray has been one of my favorite parts of the Rockaway Beach area since we arrived here several years ago. In fact, it was Ray that located the Last Resort for us when we were looking for a resort property that had a pool. He then lived and worked there for us for several years and now he's back in one of the cabins and part of our tribe once again. You'll be seeing more of Ray as we plan to start building a deck on his cabin next week.
The progress just doesn't stop at the last Resort. Everyone was busy with cleaning and sorting stuff today and finally getting a lot of the debris from around the cabins cleaned up. I'm kind of excited about one new development going on there right now.
One of our new tenants coming in to Cabin 1 will also be taking over part of Cabin 2 for the purpose of starting up a laundry service there. She is our housekeeper for Rainbow Haven Resort. She is moving here Cross Timbers housekeeping operation into Cabin 2 along with starting up a wash and fold service there. She and her husband are very excited about it and have already gotten their first few customers.
It certainly seems like an Adventure from what I can see so far!
