September 6 - Resort Adventures

September 6, 2019
Day 249 - 118 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark (Colombian Dark French Roast)

With much of the vacation guest business slowing down now, most of the people staying at the resorts are here to catch fish. In years past, I've worked the marketing pretty hard to keep a steady flow of customers through the Resorts. This year, I've decided to back off of that a little and focus on getting some projects done. We've tried for three years now to get the decks cleaned and painted at Rainbow Haven but have always gotten run over by the vacation season. It happened again this Spring. So as Fall approaches, I'm going to make the effort to get some of this stuff done.

The Last Resort Project:
We had another potential buyer look at The Last Resort today and he seemed interested in not only that property but the Rainbow Haven one as well. I'm not sure he sounds ready for a fully operational resort, but the cabins did look like they would work for his purposes, I guess we'll see how that goes.

I get a kick out of seeing what they are up to there almost on a daily basis. I've given all of them pretty much free reign on their space so each day is a new thing. Some of it is awesome, some of it causes me to scratch my head a little and then I just laugh at some of it. For example, today I found a patio table and umbrella sitting outside the pool area. I'm not sure if it was just a shady spot to take a break or if it is intended as some more permanent fixture there.

Who knows. I guess we'll see if it stays or ends up back near the pool.
