Day 308 - 57 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombia)
The work load shifted today from the Last Resort to Rainbow Haven. With cold weather in the forecast and no one scheduled in for about a week, we decided it was time to begin upgrading the heat sources in the cabins. They had a menagerie of different methods of heating in them. But starting today, they will all be converted to a consistent, thermostatically controlled, safe and comfortable system. Plus, we are planning some much needed upgrades to a couple of the units to begin the process of improving the comfort and appearance. Guests are occasionally bewildered by why we have waited to make changes. The fact is we have bee making changes and improvements, but it's almost all been in areas that no on sees like water heaters, air conditioners, boats plumbing problems and the like. (does anyone remember the hammering sound in the pipes a couple years ago the it took most of the Summer to diagnose and fix?)
Anyway, We have a number of improvements planned to start now in the off season that will be visually noticeable. Don't worry, we have daily updates of them. Even the corner in the room in this picture is destines to change quite radically.
