Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombia)
The rain keeps coming today and the lake keeps rising. I'm not expecting any problems but it's surprised me before. I used to pay no attention to it but then we got a couple of minor floods back to back in less than 30 days. Since then I've been a little gun shy and keep my eye on it to make sure it behaves itself. Knowing what the radar looks like and the slow rise still gives me hope there won't need to be a mad scramble to move our laundry room equipment.
As it turned out, by the end of the day, we were still above water. Then the Corp of Engineers opened up more gates at Table Rock Lake dam and the water started coming up again, by 6pm, we did get some watering the laundry room (about two inches worth) but we had already removed everything. By 4am, it was gone again and we'll get to hose it out.
