Day 122 - 244 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Trail (Guatemala)
The "Fisher-Kid" FREE Tackle tradition continues this year for kids coming into the tackle shop. So the process goes like this. If you're a kid that is "just the right age" (or can act like one on occasion), you are eligible for a free pack of fishing tackle from our special tackle bin. I have hundreds of pictures of kids proudly displaying their fishing tackle. This year, we've expanded the project to include a bigger variety for the kids to choose from and from the looks on their faces, it's been a resounding success.
Now I do have one disclaimer to make regarding all of this. I am NOT responsible for exactly how this tackle is used once it leaves the shop! Last year a couple of young boys accompanied by their grandpa were absolutely giddy about picking out some plastic baits. I assumed would be used for fish catching. The boys excitedly proclaimed that these baits were to be used to "Scare Grandma"! I have not seen anything of the two boys OR their grandpa since. As he may have become an accomplice in the treachery, he may have succumbed to the wrath of grandma along with the boys. I can only hope it turned out okay for the whole family.
