Day 223 - 143 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombia)
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombia)
The march to completion has begun at the Gold Rush Treehouse. I think I'll feature different aspects of this new cabin this week so you can get an idea of how unique it is. Beginning with the bed area, you will notice the headboard is made from whiskey barrel staves. There are sconce lights on either side of the bed also made from segments of whiskey barrels and a gold pan for a center piece above the bed. We used "beetle kill" knotty pine for the walls and ceiling. This is pine that was killed by beetle infestation and then cut into lumber. While the stained and damaged wood doesn't lend itself to many applications, it was a perfect fit for a prospectors cabin.
