Day 362 - 4 Days to go
63 Days Until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavors)
This will be a little more of an extensive posting dedicated to the "Treasured Times Cruising" Adventure. "Treasured Times", a 53' Motor-Yacht, is the name of the boat our daughter Adreane and her husband Mike owns. It's one of two. The other being "Idle Hour" which is 39' in length. Idle Hour was their first step into the Motor-Yacht World, (similar to our first resort which was Cross Timbers Cabins) Adreane studied for and received her 100 Ton Master Captains license by the US Coast Guard over a year ago, which to give a perspective, Treasured Times is a 26 ton vessel.
Mike and Adreane are a couple of "Salty" Life fanatics. Every moment of spare time is spent on the ocean. Mostly the Atlantic with Idle Hour and now the Gulf Keys with both boats. They spend a lot of time fishing, but to be honest, that is mostly just enough to provide some wonderful fresh seafood for the galley. Their passion is much more. They are active in Diving, Snorkeling, Snuba Diving, Spear Fishing, Wreck Diving, Salvaging, Lobster and Crab Hunting, Sightseeing, and literally anything that is a part of the life around the Keys.
The purchase of Treasured Times was their decision to go big enough to be able to offer Private Charters. It has four private staterooms aboard and enough amenities to handle 6-8 guests for up to several days. While they are experts at life on the boat, breaking into the "Adventure Charter" business is a new.......... Well.... "Adventure" for them! They have been running informal tours with friends, and soon, family. Namely us! And we CAN'T WAIT!
The "Adventure Cruises" offer many more options than just fishing. Based in Marathon Key, they will have easy access to enough experiences to satisfy your itch for Blue Water Adventure! We plan to visit them soon and be their "guinea pigs" and test out one or two of their cruise destination options. I'm sure there will be plenty of business discussed along the way so don't get any ideas that we are doing any of this JUST FOR FUN!
If you have taken the time to read this, I am going to ask a BIG FAVOR right now. Adreane has been making some VERY professional looking video's of their progress getting Treasured Times ready for business. It includes all kinds of things including: under water repairs and maintenance, Spearing Lionfish, Catching Lobsters, Adding and lengthening their Anchor Chains, Tying off the boats in preparation for Hurricane Eta, SPending the night aboard ship while the Hurricane passed directly over them. Pulling the boat out of water for installation of under water lights and 3D side scan sonar. and........ Well, you really just need to watch them. She produces one every week and posts it to their Youtube channel.
