Day 366 of the Adventure

By the Way...... Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of purchasing Camp Run-Amuck. Which is a "Raw Land to complete Homestead" project. Of course, we had not hanged that name on it yet back then. That may have happened on the day I snagged one of the foundation piers for our cabin with the backhoe. In the 365 days we've officially been here, we've accomplished quite a lot. Here's a list:

Cleared roadways from the highway down to the cabin site

Rocked them in with a large rock base and smaller rock surface

Cleared trees from the roadways and building sites

Dug up all of the related tree stumps

Trenched a water line and laid in pipe to the cabin

Trenched a High Voltage supply line from the highway to the cabin area

Built a Utility Control building for grid power and Solar power distribution

Added a Solar power system and battery storage system to the property

Constructed a cabin accommodating alternate energy sources

Installed a Low Pressure Pipe Septic system

All of it has been a process that has lead us to where we are right now, getting ready to begin installing siding on the buildings. We had the benefit of our kids here to help for a week in May, getting the cabin framed up and roof on. Other than that, it's been a year's worth of effort from a couple of "60 somethings" who should be thinking of slowing down some. I think the only reason I even bring that up is to demonstrate that it is possible to do.

As we enter our second year here, I encourage you to follow your dream whatever it is. Don't fear the Adventure.
