Day 394 of the Adventure

The rain that was supposed to end yesterday is still persistently falling. Not heavy, but just there. Our wood pile of split, stove wood had been depleted during the cold snap and it wasn't that big in the first place. We decided to fire up the wood splitter and stock up between spells of drizzle. We have a number of methods of hauling firewood. Probably the most lame of them is the golf cart. Who ever heard of a golf cart for hauling firewood. Still, it's by far the most convenient vehicle we have for getting several days worth of wood from the wood splitting area to the cabin.

Even though we run out of wood ready to burn in the stove pretty quick, it's only because we are splitting it as we go. The property here has numerous cache's of firewood stacked all over from us clearing roads and building sites down here. I can already see that we'll need to put some effort into figuring out a good location and design of a wood-shed soon. I'd really like to get one built before the cold and potential snow arrives. The reality of it is that it probably just won't happen this year at all. Oh well, just another task for next year......
