January 19 - The Campfire Trail - Candle Making At The Cabin

Day 840 of the Adventure

Our Candle Making Day
Recently, we had gotten inspired to give a few home-grown projects a try. Some we've done in the past, but others were brand new to us. Most of them represent the kind of things that everybody seems to want to try or do, but just never gets around to actually doing them. The list includes candle making, soap making, growing sprouts and a few other of those sorts of things.

With that said, we embarked on a candle making evening. We had ordered a small kit with necessities in it. We planned to make some decorative candles with the soy wax from the kit and some scents and colors. Then, we planned to use a straight candle mold to melt a bunch of left over and garage sale odds & ends candles into some straight, 6 inch emergency candles. The list of supplies we used is below with links taking you to where we purchased them.

We also recorded a video of all of it just below the supply list so you can see just how easy it was. I think if you decide to try some candle-making for yourself, you'll find it to be a fun project.
