Day 880 of the Adventure
The Garden Quest continues. If nothing else, we are certain to have at least one raised bed for Spring planting. Actually I'm sure we'll have six. There's room for nine. We'll see how that goes. there's still a perimeter fence to build and a greenhouse to get set up. March is breathing down our necks and there's a lot still to do. By looking at the picture, I can't really judge the dimensions. They are 4ft by 8ft and about a foot and a half high on the downhill side. This one took two tractor buckets of wood mulch/compost and then two tractor buckets of black dirt. The dirt filled about the top 10"-12" of space. I think that will work out okay. I guess time will tell just how much we can grow in something this size.
I'm a day late in getting this post out for good reason. Our good friends from Hot Springs Arkansas arrived in town and we spent the remainder of the day with them and will be hanging out with them tomorrow. They will be visiting Camp Run-Amuck for the first time since the middle of last year and we have a lot of catching up to do. I heard the story of the "Pig Wrestling" last night and I'll try my best to get that story on a video. It sounds uniquely "Arkansas" and that's not a sign of disrespect. It just sounds like something you would do either for entertainment or out of necessity. More on that later!
