February 9 - The Campfire Trail - Sneaking Off

I turned in the middle of working on the garden space and for a brief second, I thought our tractor was trying to sneak off! Of course it wasn't. If there were any "sneaking off" to be done, it would have been me. Our tractor has never flinched from work, whereas I am ready to flinch at a moment's notice for nearly any reason. The work today, and actually for this week has been preparing the garden area. I mentioned this a few days ago and I was soundly corrected with a chorus of "IT'S NOT TIME TO BE GARDENING YET!" Of course that's true, I was referring to the fact that we have not yet prepared the space we have planned for a garden yet. It's still woods!

The garden prepping includes things like removing trees, big and small. Preparing a site for a greenhouse, not yet assembled. Installing a protective fence around the area to deter deer. Meaning it will probably need to be about five feet tall. Finally, even though we have a water hydrant in the space, we plan to install w rain water catchment system on the container and store water in a water tower (you'll just have to wait and see that) So, it's not gardening we are preparing for, it's garden construction we are busy with. There are eight Sundays between now and March 31. We plan to upload a video of the progress each Sunday morning to show the progress of the weeks work. Watch for it.
