Day 952 of the Adventure
Things are ramping up in the garden. Yes, the plants are growing but there's more. The actual construction process continues as there are still plenty of smaller projects on the drawing board. One we can now cross off is the actual assembly of the greenhouse. Of course, there's still work to be done on the inside of it to make it functional, but the big job is done. Actually, the biggest part of the job was getting the rock platform built. I must have made 50 trips to the rockpile with the tractor to get enough rock in place to level up the area. Thank goodness that's done!
I can only imagine what our friends must be thinking of our new adventure in the back-woods. Is it all worth the trouble? Is it even all that necessary? Maybe. Maybe not. For me it's a motive that's been running pretty deeply in me for my entire life. It began to surface in my early 20's as Shelley and I struggled to keep the bills paid while raising our new family. The intrigue of self-sufficiency began to set in back then and I've never really been able to shake it. Obviously, there was a portion of our life when building a business took front and center. I'll never regret that time in our life. Yet, it's the draw of creating a life of self-sufficiency and independence from the control of outside forces that appeals to my more "Primitive" or "Tribal" instincts. I don't know if that actually explains anything or not. I probably just sound half crazy. Nevertheless, it's my crazy and I'm sticking to it!
Carry On
Adventure Quote: “Don’t let others tell you what you can’t do. Don't let the limitations of others limit your vision. If you can remove your self-doubt and believe in yourself, you can achieve what you never thought possible.” ―
