Day 1,266 of the Adventure
When "they" say that a picture is worth a thousand words, this is the kind of thing "they" are talking about. There is much more going on here than a simple picture of the night-time view out the door. This was taken at the Backwoods Bug-Out. The property owned by our kids. This is a 100% off-grid experience. One that includes hot and cold running water, electricity and even air-conditioning for the warmer months. It's essentially has all the modern conveniences you would expect from a primary home with none of the utility connections...... or costs. Yes, like any modern off-grid property, there are costs to getting it set up. Once completed though, a little steady maintenance can keep the thing going strong, almost indefinitely. But enough of the tech-talk. Sometimes the most important part is in the moments when the work is done for the day, the stars come out and the batteries in the next container over are very quietly lighting up camp with the glow of accent lights in the trees. This view is from the container bedroom looking out into the night sky though the trees. It's at these times when the simple feeling of "escape" finds it's purpose. When I asked how it felt being out in the remote Ozarks woodland at night, the single word answer I got back was..... Quiet.
