Day 1,286 of the Adventure
I guess I got crossed up with the survival preppers the other day when I suggested that
growing your own fruits and vegetables was like "Printing Money". Of course, Printing Money is the only real thing that's exactly like "Printing Money". Quite a large number of them were quick to point out that there was no comparison between the two. I guess...... to be purely honest, that's true and I'll gladly concede the point. But speaking of "Points", I feel they missed the point by insisting on making all of the arguments why growing vegetables IS NOT like printing money. After all, you cannot take a bag of tomatoes to town and simply buy a part for your car at the local auto parts store with it! (this is where I insert my sarcastic "eye roll" response) TRUE..... but then you missed the point. It surprised me that among the self-proclaimed "Preppers", that they were challenging one of the more basic principles of prepping and preparedness, with such a silly argument. My whole point was that the more things you could do to lower the cost's of living (ie; growing vegetables rather than buying them) the more money you can divert to other things that are important to your costs of living life. So, by reducing what you pay for tomatoes, you can increase the money you have that's available for other things. Kind of like "Printing Money".
