Our Basement or Our Pool - April 5

Day 1,282 of the Adventure


We are on day four of about a five-day rain here in the Ozarks. Flooding is much worse further to our east than it is here. We're on a nice hillside that really prevents us from having any flood issues. The one exception is our basement project that can easily collect all of the rain from the uphill direction on the property. It's tiled so it can't collect too much before it drains out further down the hill. It can fill up to about six inches pretty quickly making it look like a small lake. It's just something that we have to deal with until we get the walls up as high as the original ground level grade. Until then, when it rains, we have a pool. I'll be curious to see if the weather does indeed clear up and dry out next week. If so, I think I can get several days-worth of block laying accomplished.
