Boat Living Day 1 - May 8

Day 1,315 of the Adventure


It's not often we get to spend a little time on board our kid's boat for a few days. This time it was scheduled along with some business in South Florida. The business didn't take long, we made sure of that. Then was off to the Keys for a few days of relaxation. Of course, the drive getting here was what you would expect or at least imagine fighting through south Florida during rush hour(s). But today....... we awoke to 79 degrees at 6:30am. A slight gulf breeze inbound from the south was fresh and clean. There was a slow buzzing about at the marina with fishermen stocking up with bait and getting boats read for a day of fishing. tarpon were surfacing in the water along-side Treasured Times, the boat we would call home for the next week or so. The Keys are also known for the feral population of chickens, so roosters could be randomly heard from all directions. I marveled at the efficiency and prowess of the fishermen moving boats around the piers in the marina. I guess they navigate them about the way we work a tractor or excavator back home. It's all about what you do every day. 

Today is day 1 and by 7am, i had already acclimated to what lie ahead for us. They only thing I currently lack is a cup of coffee, but I can smell that along with the aroma of bacon frying coming up from the galley............... Let the "Boat Life" commence!
