Twice per year, a local Heirloom seed company hosts a Springtime and then a Fall event at their Farm. Baker Creek Seed is the company. Today was the Spring Event. I understand the concept behind heirloom seeds, and I suppose the value as well. In a nutshell, they are seeds whose genetics have been kept intact for decades. I can see how people see that as valuable. Certain varieties of plants can maintain their characteristics this way. Baker Creek is dedicated to the preservation of these varieties. It's a fascinating place to visit and you should put it on your daytrip list!
