Day 1,405 of the Adventure
It never fails. This happens with almost everything but it's certainly true when it comes to tools. Buying one thing leads to the need for buying something else. I really noticed it when I owned a sawmill. You can't just own a sawmill without owning something to power it, then a tractor to move logs. a loader for the tractor to lift the logs. A cant hook to roll the logs, skidding tongs to drag logs, a tooth sharpener along with an accompanying swage to shape and set the teeth in the blade. Then when you think you've got everything possible, then you realize you need a surface planer to plane the boards for use or sale. Probably need to build a kiln to dry the lumber and on and on and on! It happens on a smaller scale too. The need to cut rebar has hit us, and after never wanting to ever use a hack saw again, and breaking my last reciprocating saw while cutting rebar the "easy" way. I found it time to level up to a hand-held bandsaw. You can't just buy the saw. Well, you can but you would have nothing to power it. So, you need batteries. You can't just have batteries. No, they don't sell them with chargers either. So, you need a battery charger. $500 later, I've procured a bandsaw with a charger and pair of batteries. They will sell you the batteries one at a time but that NEVER works out! You always need to use the saw right when your battery runs out. You need one to use while you are charging the other one. My cordless drills and impact drivers are a testament to this. Even with six batteries and three chargers, some days they just barely keep up! It simply never ends! It's a dark and slippery slope when you buy your first power tool!
Carry On
