January 13 - Resort Adventures - Week 2 In The Books

January 13, 2019
Day 13 - 352 Days to go
47 Days until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek

Today went a lot like yesterday. Coffee, football playoff games, relaxing in front of the fireplace and a nice meal at the Mexican Restaurant up the hill in Forsyth. Every time I walk into the office, I pass by reminders that we are in the "Fishing Business". There are several stock shelves of tackle and baits in my office and some are quite colorful. Every day they say to me "This is the time of the year for big Trout". Which is true. We've seen 10 pound plus Brown Trout caught every year and the big ones like that are almost all caught in January, February and March. Don't ask me why, I only sell the bait and point you to the lake. Like the previous owner of Rainbow Haven Resort was fond of saying when people asked "How's the fishing been?" He would answer "Depends on the fisherman!"

Week two of the 2019 season is in the books and business is typically slow. The Treehouses are receiving reservations at a pretty good rate. Our systems send email notifications upon every booking and there doesn't seem to be a single day go buy without at least a couple reservations and sometimes a whole bunch. But I suppose that's the treehouse business for you.

We are getting close to only a month and a half until March first when the season starts to pick back up in earnest. Looking forward to that but we still have a lot to get done.
