March 27 - Resort Adventures

March 27, 2019
Day 86 - 279 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombian)

I finally decided it was time to begin making some badly needed repairs to the boat dock. After three years of consistent use with very little maintenance, it was beginning to show some wear and tear. Among other small repairs their is at least one big repair that I began taking a stab at. It happened three plus years ago during the December 2015 flood. The flood didn't really damage it but it raised it high enough on the guide posts that it floated free of them. When it came back down, it was mis-aligned and settled over the wrong posts. It's going to be an ongoing challenge to get it relocated back where it's supposed to be. I'll keep you posted on that. Today however was some knit-picky little repairs that has actually been more aggravating. Wave action managed to bend an eye-bolt allowing the chains holding the equipment room in place to keep falling off. Being free of the dock, it was constantly trying to float away. So armed with a welder and some new hardware, I tackled the escapee boat house. With a welder, electricity, waves moving everything around, not to mention a 500 gallon fuel tank not too far away...…..What could possibly go wrong!

Shelley disappeared this morning for a while and the next thing I noticed was a selfie of her with a nice Largemouth Bass on Facebook. That explained everything. She also announced to me that she would be fishing this afternoon as well. Looks like maybe a fish fry is in our future tonight.

Maybe I need to go do some fishing today myself!

The Last Resort Project: Since Wednesday is Bait and Tackle delivery day, I thing Wednesday is also going to be "Work around the Rainbow Haven Resort and Marina Day". The Last Resort project will fire back up tomorrow!
