Day 138 - 227 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake (Colombia/Sumatra)
Another sure sign of the coming of Summer showed up today. I heard the "Raptors" coming a couple minutes before I saw them. The Ford Raptors that is. Three of them to be exact. That's what powers the nearly 1,500 hp tourist boat that makes anywhere from one to four trips per day down the lake during the summer tourist season. They generally fuel up here at our marina on weekends. This will be the third season they've been visiting our dock for fuel and they are usually REALLY thirsty when they pull in! Just one more way we do our best to stay in business and bring a little commerce to town.
With the Jet Boat, it's either a Love Them or Hate Them relationship. To the fishermen, they are a nuisance and disrupt their fishing routine for a minute or two each trip. To the 8-10 million visitors coming to Branson every year, it's an exciting thrill ride with power spins and bow dunks that get passengers wet. They've been very gracious customers to our little business on the lake and many of our guests have taken the ride and enjoyed it. I suppose the controversy will never end. I personally enjoy seeing a little bit of excitement running past our place a few times each day.
Then its quiet again.

The Last Resort Project: We moved some more supplies into cabin 6 in an attempt to wrap up as much as possible there this weekend. The guys are making a few final repairs and getting some painting done.
