Day 236 - 129 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombian)
With only one day left before we travel to Iowa and say our farewell to Shelley's dad, we had a full schedule of last minute things all needing our attention. With the closing on the Cross Timbers resort coming up fast, there was still a lot of things needing moved from the property out of storage sheds. The guys were busy refinishing the floor in one of the cabins. Plus, with the cabins changing ownership, the housekeeping services for them needed to change locations as well. This brought an urgency to get one of the Last Resort cabins operational from a plumbing point of view.
The Last Resort Project
With the water to cabin 1 and 2 turned back on, we were dismayed to find that we could NOT find a water leak in the system. After tracing all the water pipes throughout the cabin, we determined that it had to be under ground somewhere. There were only two options available. Keep staring at the pipes in hopes the meter would quit turning on it's own. (we didn't have much hope in that solution) or simply make the call to replace a section of underground water main. So we made the call to stop messing with it and simply rent a trencher next week to install a new main to Cabins 1 and 2. This is ultimately a good decision. The city replaced all the city mains a few years ago. This will complete the newness right into the cabins and hopefully prevent any other plumbing problem for years to come.
