Day 292 - 73 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Trail (Guatemala)
We have left the regular "Resort Adventure" behind today and are doing the road trip to the Gulf. I don't know why I landed on Cruises to become my staple "get-away", but after the first one I was hooked. I think it's because once I arrive on-board the ship, the phone gets turned off (can't get service anyway unless you want to pay for it......isn't that the point of being on vacation? not dealing with stuff back home???) After the phone is off, someone else drives, cooks, cleans, organizes, takes us to the cool places and so on. All I typically have to do is sleep, eat, relax, look at the scenery, eat, swim in beautiful warm water, eat, or do nothing. I guess it's not that big of a mystery after all!
Anyway, road trips to the port include passing by interesting sounding towns like Toad Suck, Snow Ball, Pickles Gap all in Arkansas. Transylvania, Yazoo City and roads like Tchoupitoulas Street (How do you even say that? I'm not sure it's possible for a human!)
The good news is that by the end of the day, we were where Palm Trees grow!
