October 4 - Resort Adventures

October 4, 2019
Day 277 - 88 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Woods (Colombia/Costa Rica)

When I left you yesterday, I momentarily had zero pontoon boats running. I managed to beat one of them into submission right there on the lake and, thank goodness, the repair shop got one of the other ones whipped into shape by about 4pm. This meant I would be able to make good on all of our boat rental reservations for Saturday and Sunday.

I personally don't believe in "Jinx's" but about a month ago I was bragging that none of our boats had failed even once all Spring and Summer. Shortly after that, I couldn't seem to keep any of them running properly. I suppose they, like me, was just getting worn out from the busy Summer and needed a little R&R. (Rest and Repair) I still have one of them scheduled for the repair shop next week. Perhaps they will feel good enough to complete the season without additional labor strikes!

The Last Resort Project: With me on the warpath with boats and the boys working on a couple of out-of-town projects, nothing much has been happening at The Last Resort for a couple of days now.

Adventure Quote:  “Something can be very funny and then suddenly very terrifying-very exciting, and suddenly very ridiculous. I think that’s what life is like, that’s what interests me.”
Joss Whedon

Somehow, I feel this way about Boats today!
