Day 306 - 59 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Trail (Guatemala)
Two more Fall traditions commenced today. the first one is the Christmas trees and lights we put up around the pool area. Before it's done there will be quite a few of them. Yes..... I know it seems early for Christmas stuff but mostly it has to do with the heavy emphasis on the Christmas season around the Branson area in general. Branson shines (literally) from the first of November through the end of December. With those months drawing larger and larger volumes of tourists, it makes sense to do what we can to add some complimentary Christmas ambience to the resorts. The city here had worked a Christmas Island display for the past two years to coincide with those months but I haven't heard what's happening to that this year. It brought several guests here last year for it.
The other Fall tradition is the first lighting of the fireplace in our house, followed closely by the third tradition, the annual activation of the smoke detectors. You'll be happy to hear that they all work just the way they should and that tradition didn't only lasted a couple of minutes this year.
