Guests are arriving today and the weather is somewhat mild in spit of it closing in on the second week of December. I shouldn't be surprised by this. I always get to thinking that once cooler weather has arrived, everyone will just stay home. The truth is that cold weather is one of my favorite times to get away. I've always enjoyed heading off to a cabin somewhere in the Fall and Winter. Then there's the hardy bunch that likes to fish in the cold weather, so they can be relied upon to show up all winter long. One guest showed up for the fishing. Another showed up to get away from the "Women's get-together" his wife was conducting this weekend. That's funny, but I completely understand.
Most of the critical dock repairs have been made. There are still a few things to do there but the boys are off working some projects in Springfield today. I decided to take a break from the dock and spend a little time in the office and shop. There is still some organizing and preparing for the work we will be starting at the Treehouses next week. I have a feeling that this winter slow season will be anything but slow. We have active projects going on everywhere.
1. Finishing house renovations at The Last Resort (and other things there)
2. Renovations on room 12 at Rainbow Haven Resort (and other things there)
3. Upgrading six cabins at Branson Treehouse Adventures
4. Beginning construction on three new treeshouses there as well.
That'll be enough to keep us busy until Spring!

The Last Resort Project: The boys (Brad and Dave for those of you who don't know who I'm referring to when I say "the boys") finished adding attic insulation to the final cabin there today.
