Day 343 - 22 Days to go
83 Days Until March 1
83 Days Until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombia) (It's what we're drinking at the treehouses today)
This day has been in the works for over three months. We are finally making some upgrade improvements to the six big cabins at the treehouse resort. These are not the treehouses. They are the cabins that were present on the property when we purchased it. While they are nice cabins, they have been showing the signs of age and wear and tear. Actually, they are quite beautiful. The biggest issues were roofs that need replacing and we will be partitioning off a large 400 square foot open loft into multiple bedrooms. The entire interior of the cabins is finished in knotty pine. (Just the way I like it) so none of that is being changed. We are just trying to make the spaces more usable for guests wanting a little more privacy.
The work began with removing flooring and knee walls. After that, some widows will be removed and saved for a later date when we actually plan to add a third upper level bedroom addition and a second bathroom to each cabin. It's exciting to see the amount of progress in just one day of work.

Adventure Quote: “The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
