Day 212 - 154 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Woods (Colombia/Costa Rica blend)
I've spent the last couple days reflecting on "The Last Resort" project. I've been remembering the process that brought us to purchase it. The Summer was 2012 and we had a pretty good schedule of guests staying with us at Cross Timbers Cabins. The Summer was blazing hot and many potential guests decided against staying because we did not have a pool. Cap'n Ray was our neighbor at the time and had already become a good friend. One day I told him, "Ray! Find us a resort property with a POOL!" two days later he showed up with news he had found one just a mere block away from Cross Timbers. It had a house, seven cabins and a BIG swimming pool. A month later we owned it, Ray and De moved into the house as caretakers of the property and we officially owned two resorts.
Cap'n Ray (I added "Cap'n" to his rank a couple years later) made the place look beautiful with flower plantings and general fussing around the property. The following Spring, he drained the pool and painted it for the upcoming season.
Good Memories remain from those years.
