Day 73 - 292 Days To Go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavors)
As promised, today I'll be revealing the name of our new treehouse that is nearing completion. I've had a hard time describing it to people. What comes to mind is an old river boat work shop/boat house kind of a thing. As soon as I say "River Boat" everyone thinks, Mississippi paddle wheeler type of boat..... but that's not it! I'm thinking river Jon Boat for fishing in places like the White River, for example, which was premier float fishing water when the lakes around here were still the White River. Now, the river has been transformed by large dams into several lakes (or Reservoirs), Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo are the two close ones. Beaver Lake is in the upstream direction and Bull Shoals Lake in the downstream direction.
This treehouse is a nostalgic journey into the river float trip era that dominated fishing tourism in the Ozarks before the big dams and the bigger lakes dominated the landscape. So, if you can picture an old boat dock on the shores of the White River, with old float boats tied up to the piers. Fishing gear and tackle everywhere and all of the things you would expect from a 1930's and 40's fishing shack and boat repair shop, then you'll get the picture of what we want to create with this treehouse.
The name, taken from a memorable line in everyone's favorite Clint Eastwood movie, "The Outlaw Josie Wales".......
Allow me to introduce our version of "The Missouri Boatride", our next treehouse cabin at Branson Treehouse Adventures.
Adventure Quote: “Around here, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
