The Campfire Trail: October 9 - DIY Homestead - Evening Fire and Noises from the Woods

Day 374 of the Adventure

This is a very "Late in the Day" posting. We spent the afternoon getting the second coat of stain on the siding that we got installed over the last couple days. I really felt too tired to mess with doing anything more today. I dragged myself to the fire and got it re-kindled but was more just staring at it than thinking very much. I have evidently drawn enough attention to myself that a deer is now stomping its feet and snorting at me from somewhere out in the woods. It is far too dark to see anything out there, but it still brings a smile to my face. I love the backwoods.

I am beginning to realize there are only so many pictures you can take of the woods at dusk before they all start to look the same. I guess I'm going to have to spend more time getting interesting pictures. The biggest challenge to that is I'm just very content sitting here by the fire and looking at the same views day after day (or night after night as the case may be) But I'll commit to getting something new to look at and then share it with everyone. Enjoy the evening. Maybe even get out there and build a small campfire for yourself.........
