I've referred to my "90 Day Countdown to Spring" over the years and today is always the day I'm looking forward to. While technically not "Spring", in our corner of the world March 1 is close enough to go ahead and declare that "Spring has Sprung". Daffodils have always be out by two or three weeks by now. This year, Forsythia bushes have already been blooming for a week. The temperatures have flirted with 80's a couple of times. It's close enough.

We've had friends in from Hot Springs, Arkansas for the past couple of days. They arrived a day after the near miss with 80 degrees, just in time for the upper 20's storm front to get here. They'll be going home tomorrow, just as the mid 70's return. They were good sports about it though. Probably because they know they will be heading back further south where the weather is always warmer.

March First. A time of year I look forward to as things begin coming back to life for yet another outdoor season. The cool, crispness of Fall with it's campfire routine is great. Even winter with the occasional snow and cozy cabin life has it's own charm. Nothing, however, matches the hope and anticipation of Spring with everything beginning to green up. The warmer rain of Spring thunderstorms and the invitation of life continuing in more of an outdoor fashion. I'm ready for it!
